About The Position
Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.
A fulltime role exists for a Operations System Specialist to join our team.
The Operations System Specialist supports the Manager Operations Systems by focusing on the ongoing maintenance, evaluation, and improvement of work processes and systems used for delivery.
This role is critical for the safe operation of Snowy Hydro’s infrastructure delivering ongoing system support to our regional operational teams. The role involves developing deep expertise in these systems, overseeing their configuration and maintenance, and providing ongoing troubleshooting and support. The specialist will also lead change management for systems, including acceptance testing and validation, and work with the operational teams across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Manage functional administration of Electronic Permitting and Safety System (ePAS - Prometheus Group) and Outage Management System (OMS - PCI Energy Solutions's) and their associated processes.Triage, investigate, and resolve system issues and defects in collaboration with stakeholders and vendors, escalating to support partners as required while ensuring master data accuracy and consistency.Develop, and maintain business process training documents and procedures, encourage compliance and standardisation across the business.Lead the change management process for systems, including acceptance testing and validation for system changes and version upgrades.Monitor, review, and analyse key data and provide advice and recommendations for improvement opportunities.
About the location:
This role is based in Cooma, working a standard Monday to Friday roster with hybrid working arrangements that include a minimum of 3 days in an office or on-site. We are pleased to offer relocation support to those looking to make the move to Cooma.
We may consider other Snowy regional office locations such as Talbingo, Khancoban for the right candidate. No matter the base, this role will require travel across all Snowy locations.
About You
Experience with ePAS and/or OMS administration in a heavy industrial setting; familiarity with Prometheus Group or PCI Energy Solutions systems is highly regarded.High-level computing skills in web-based applications, with a strong understanding of how system integrations function and their potential operational impact.Demonstrated experience with, or a comprehensive understanding of, work permit and plant outage management processes.Strong Communication skills with the ability to articulate and communicate information effectively to diverse audiences.The ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision when required, with a flexible attitude.Experience with safety processes, demonstrating a strong commitment to keeping our people safe through reliable and compliant operational procedures.Certificate 3 Workplace training and assessment (desirable).
