Freelance Registered Nurse / Research Nurse - MelbourneAbout the opportunityProPharma is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide ad hoc home-visit support for a clinical trial in the Werribee / Point Cook area of Western Melbourne.We are advertising across the wider Melbourne area and welcome applications from nurses who are comfortable travelling to the Werribee / Point Cook area for the required patient visits.This is a freelance, ad hoc opportunity rather than a permanent or fixed-hours role. It is designed to be flexible and can be undertaken alongside your existing nursing role, freelance work or other clinical research projects.The first patient home visit is currently targeted for 8 September 2026, with additional visits potentially available according to study and patient requirements.
What you will be doingConducting scheduled clinical trial visits in the patient's homePerforming venipuncture and collecting blood samplesProcessing blood samples according to study requirementsCentrifuging samples where requiredCompleting blood requisition forms and study documentationFollowing study-specific procedures and instructionsEnsuring accurate and compliant handling of samples and documentation
What we are looking forEssential:Registered Nurse with current Australian registrationStrong, confident and recent venipuncture / blood collection experienceComfortable working independently in a patient home environmentStrong attention to detailAble to follow clinical and study-specific proceduresWilling and able to travel to the Werribee / Point Cook area for patient visitsAble to work on a freelance / contractor basisHighly desirable:Clinical research or research nursing experienceResearch Nurse or Research Nurse Coordinator experienceClinical trial experienceExperience processing and centrifuging blood samplesExperience completing blood requisition formsExperience within a Phase I unit, clinical trials unit, research site or hospital research team
