Cafe Manager

Caffe Ducale is a premium Melbourne-owned and operated coffee roaster by Industry Beans. We combine traditional Italian coffee flavours with the knowledge, sourcing, roasting, and craftsmanship of Melbourne Specialty Coffee.

In August 2026, Caffe Ducale will open its second espresso bar in Westfield Southland. The espresso bar will focus on both dine in and take-away high-volume coffee and freshly roasted retail coffee, bringing together modern coffee equipment with unique Italian styled architecture and design.

The Role

We are looking for a Cafe Manager to oversee the new espresso bar and lead a passionate team of baristas. The right person will have extensive experience and a strong passion for specialty coffee, with an advanced barista background and leadership skills. They will also have the ability to hire, train and lead a team that champions memorable customer experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to join us and play a key role in the opening of our concept cafe.

Café Manager Responsibilities:

• Foster a positive team culture consistent with our brand values.
• Lead by example in delivering a market-leading customer service experience and set the standard for the team.
• Provide coaching, direction, and weekly goals to team members, including training and development.
• Oversee venue administration, including systems management, ordering, stocktaking, timesheet management, and team member training.
• Create and manage rosters to provide optimal team coverage while maintaining budget targets.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve the customer experience.
• Maintain the quality, safety, standards, and overall presentation of the cafe.

About You:

You’ll be perfect for this role if you have:

• A passion for specialty coffee and hospitality.
• Previous experience in a similar management role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead by example.
• Excellent customer service and advanced barista skills.
• A passion for creating exceptional customer experiences.
• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
• A strong work ethic and the ability to meet and exceed KPIs.
• Experience managing systems and software related to cafe operations.
• A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (desirable).
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (desirable).
