Supervisor, Accounting

Position Summary

The Supervisor is a senior technical and delivery-focused role with high client interaction. The role is responsible for reviewing work, providing technical guidance, supporting workflow management, and actively participating in client meetings. The Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining quality standards and supporting the development of junior team members.

This role is located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Primary Responsibilities

Client Engagement

Maintain regular client contact and assist in managing client relationshipsAssist in client meetings covering annual compliance reviews, tax planning, business performance, and structuring discussionsRespond to client queries with a high level of professionalism and technical accuracySupport Managers and Principals in delivering end‑to‑end compliance and advisory outcomes

Accounting, Taxation & Review

Review financial statements preparedReview income tax returns (company, trust, partnership and individual)Provide guidance on income tax, CGT, small business concessions, FBT and GSTAssist with ATO correspondence, reviews, objections and queries, as requiredEnsure compliance with ATO lodgement, regulatory and professional standardsProvide technical advice and guidance on tax law and compliance mattersEnsure work meets quality, accuracy, and compliance standardsAssist with complex tax issues and escalations

Team Support & Workflow

Assist with workflow coordination and deadline managementAct as a point of escalation for technical and process queriesSupport and mentor accountants and offshore team membersContribute to training and capability uplift within the team

Qualifications

6–8 years’ experience in business services and taxation within public practiceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related disciplineCPA or CA qualificationHigh-level tax law and review expertiseDemonstrated experience supporting and reviewing team output
