About the role
We are seeking a Business Development Manager - Consumables to join W.W. Wedderburn Pty. Limited in Thomastown VIC. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to drive new business growth and market expansion within our consumables division. You will play a strategic role in identifying and securing new client opportunities, whilst building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts. This position is integral to achieving our revenue targets and establishing W.W. Wedderburn as a leading provider in the consumables market.
What you'll be doing
Identifying and prospecting new business opportunities within the consumables sector, developing a robust pipeline of potential clients
Building and nurturing relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders across target markets
Preparing and delivering compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to client needs
Negotiating contracts and terms to ensure mutual benefit and long-term partnership success
Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and delivery for new clients
Monitoring market trends and competitive landscape to identify emerging opportunities and threats
Achieving and exceeding sales targets and key performance indicators set by management
Maintaining accurate records of all sales activities, forecasts and client interactions within CRM systems
Providing regular reporting on pipeline development, conversion rates and revenue projections
What we're looking for
Proven track record of success in new business development or consultative sales roles, ideally within the consumables, distribution or manufacturing sector
Strong understanding of B2B sales processes and the ability to identify client pain points and provide solutions
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term professional relationships
Self-motivated and results-driven with a strong work ethic and determination to exceed targets
Proficiency in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications
Strong negotiation and closing skills with experience in contract management
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team
Excellent organisational and time management abilities
Relevant qualifications in sales, business development or a related field are advantageous
