Project Administration - Construction Industry

Medical Communications Systems has been serving South Australia's Hospitals and Aged Care facilities since 2011 in the supply, install, service and maintenance of Nurse Call Systems and Messaging Systems.

About the role

We are seeking a well organised and punctual person who has attention to detail to coordinate the administrative aspect of our installation business and be trained in estimating Nurse Call Systems. 

Liaising with our Customers, Builders and Project Managers for installation projects the core role will involve reviewing and submitting technical drawings and data to help the team meet project schedules for the systems being installed. Reading and understanding the electrical specifications and drawings is an important aspect, noting Nurse Call Systems are part of the extra low voltage systems. 

Knowledge of technical drawings and schematics is therefore an essential aspect of the role, we use Bluebeam Revu Software.

The successful applicant will be well spoken and have good knowledge of Microsoft Office Apps including SharePoint. A knowledge of Reckon (QuickBooks) and previous experience with Aconex would be a distinct advantage.

 Tasks

• Reading and understanding technical specifications for construction - based on extra low voltage system including Security, CCTV and PA systems.

• Reading and understanding technical drawings - with the ability to "mark up" or create new drawings in Bluebeam Revu

• Liaising with Project Managers to ensure our team meet completion schedules   

• Liaising with Hospitals & Aged Care Facilities management teams as part of excellent communication

• Compiling and maintaining Project Folders, both hard copy and electronic in SharePoint

• Performing take offs from plans and drawings for quoting and tender submissions   

• Learning the service delivery aspect of the business as part of a team environment for overlap of tasks with other team members

Experience / Skills Set 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Technical drawing - Bluebeam Revu

• Experience in construction industry administration 

• Good time management and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and work autonomously

• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite

• Experience in using Aconex

• Knowledge of Reckon (quickbooks) 

• An understanding of Trades Person Service delivery based on mandatory priority attendance timeframes and deadlines
