ROSTER: 2:1 roster 12hrs (Residential or FIFO-From Perth to Kalgoorlie)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Sparky at Norton Gold Fields, you are responsible for conducting the maintenance and repair of the Paddington Operations Heavy Mining Equipment (HME), in a safe and efficient manner. Ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory requirements and health and safety regulations.

• Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards, damage, and defects in the work area.

• Diagnose faults and breakdowns across the Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) fleet.

• Complete planned maintenance and servicing tasks efficiently.

• Estimate time and materials needed for jobs and raise orders accordingly.

• Undertake repairs of both Light Vehicle (LV) and HME fleet as necessary.

• Regularly inspect tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.

• Manage costs responsibly to minimize rework and unnecessary use of parts and services.

• Continuously review work tasks and jobs for opportunities to improve efficiency.

ABOUT YOU

• At least 2 years of experience as an Auto Electrical tradesperson in the Mining Industry or similar. (Essential)

• Trade qualified with AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Technology or equivalent. (Essential)

• Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).

• Air Conditioning Licence (Essential)

• Experience with the Caterpillar trucks and Hitachi diggers (Desirable)

• Strong commitment to safety and team player.

• Good understanding of the following machines:

  • CAT 777F , 789D , 775F Komatsu HD1500-8 trucks

  • CAT 16M, 18M Graders

  • CAT D10T - D10T2 Dozers

  • Hitachi EX1900 , EX2600 , EX3600 Excavators

  • Komatsu PC1250 Excavators 

  • CAT IT62H , 938K , 938G , 950F , 966H , 970F , 980H , 988F Wheel loaders

  • Atlas T45, L7 Blast hole Drill rigs

• Receive a $12k residential allowance per annum, if you are residential and not FIFO.

• Receive up to $5k site allowance per annum, depending on your site location.

• Receive up to 10% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary.

• A fully covered Death and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance or allowance up to $2.4k.

• Pro-rata long service leave (LSL) after just 5 years of service and be entitled to 13 weeks paid LSL after 10 years of service.
