Rail Technical Manager- Contract

We are looking to source on behalf of a leading government rail organisation a Rail Technical Manager for a contract position that can be based in either Sydney or Canberra. The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of technical services for a major rail infrastructure project which is currently in the planning and development phase. The requirements of this position are to:

Be Expected To Have

The Following Skills And Experience: Experience in rail infrastructure projects, including major project (+$5 billion) development and delivery.

Experience supporting contract administration, monitoring performance, and ensuring alignment with project milestones. Demonstrated experience in coordinating engineering inputs across major rail projects, including track, stations, rollingstock, and digital train control systems. Ability to review technical deliverables for compliance with standards, safety regulations, and operational requirements.

Familiarity with systems engineering, safety assurance, and risk management in large-scale infrastructure environments. Have a relevant engineering degree- CEng status (ideal). The contract will last until 30 June 2026 initially.

The pay rate is the contract equivalent of $140,000-$150,000 plus super, however, this is a fantastic opportunity to work on a ground breaking project and opportunities for other permanent or contract positions offering higher remuneration in future may be available.
