Senior Java Developer with Baseline Clearance

Senior Java Developer (EL2 Equivalent) - Baseline- ACT/Hybrid We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer (EL2 equivalent) to support and enhance a mission-critical enterprise application within a complex government environment. Working as part of a highly skilled development team, you will design, develop and support enterprise solutions using Java, AWS and Oracle technologies while contributing to system reliability, continuous improvement and modern DevOps practices. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain enterprise Java applications and backend services. Build and support REST/SOAP APIs and system integrations. Develop Oracle database solutions, including SQL and PL/SQL. Develop web interfaces using ReactJS. Design, test, deploy and support enterprise software. Maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins and Maven. Produce technical documentation and design artefacts. Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver secure, high-quality solutions. Participate in a shared on-call roster for critical application support.
Essential Skills 8+ years' enterprise Java development experience. Strong Java, Spring/Spring Boot, JPA and Hibernate expertise. Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and enterprise integration. Oracle Database, SQL and PL/SQL experience. AWS experience (EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SQS and CloudFormation). Experience with Linux/Unix, Git, Jenkins and Maven. Strong software engineering, testing and DevOps practices. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Mandatory Requirements Australian Citizenship. Baseline Security Clearance (or ability to obtain). Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with attendance at the ACT office as required. Willingness to participate in a shared 24/7 on-call roster (after-hours callouts are rare).
