Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) is seeking soon to be or newly qualified Enrolled Nurses to join our next intakes of our Transition to Professional Practice program, commencing 9 November 2026 & 15 March 2027!
Employment Type: Temporary Full and Part Time positions available until 7 November 2027 (with possibility of ongoing employment)

Where you'll be working
The Enrolled Nurse - Transition to Professional Practice Program (EN - TPPP) is a 12-month program that facilitates newly graduated Enrolled Nurses in developing and enhancing their clinical skills and professional development within general acute, sub-acute or mental health clinical practice settings.
The program provides full-time or part-time employment opportunities in facilities across Northern Sydney Local Health District, including:
- Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital
- Macquarie Hospital (Mental Health)
- Mona Vale Hospital and Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice (AYAH)
- Northern Beaches Hospital
- Royal North Shore Hospital
- Ryde Hospital
What you'll be doing
The program aims for Enrolled Nurses to develop safe, person-centred care and high levels of job satisfaction. Throughout the program, Enrolled Nurses will complete targeted training specific to their clinical needs, competency-based assessments, and performance development meetings.
The purpose of this role is to provide safe and effective nursing care to patients using an individualised holistic approach related to the goals of care determined by the Primary Nurse (Registered Nurse) and within professional role limits and Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice. In the delivery of nursing care the Enrolled Nurse will work under both the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.
The Enrolled Nurse will consult with the registered nurse to ensure delegation is commensurate with own level of competence and within Local Health District (LHD) and Service policy, particularly in relation to the administration of medications.
The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.
