Casual Bookseller

About the role

Jeffreys Books is seeking a Casual Bookseller (approximately 30 hours per week including some weekend shifts) looking for the next step in their bookselling career. We have been in Malvern for over 60 years and have many repeat customers. The right candidate will want to become part of this community through learning customers and their reading preferences. This is a casual position that offers flexibility with a view to greater responsibility based on performance. As a Casual Bookseller, you will use your excellent customer service skills with your book knowledge to help customers discover their next favourite read and ensuring our store operates smoothly. You will want to develop in this role into running book clubs, events, children's specialist and other responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Providing knowledgeable and friendly customer service to shoppers seeking book recommendations and product information

• Processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the till

• Restocking shelves and maintaining a clean, organised, and visually appealing store environment

• Contributing to visual merchandising and promotional displays to enhance store appeal

• Communicating with other team members to ensure consistent service standards

• Opportunities to be involved in book clubs and events
