The Role
Arrahman College invites applications from enthusiastic, qualified, and experienced Secondary Mathematics and Science Teachers to join our growing Secondary team.
We are seeking dedicated educators who are passionate about their subject area, committed to student achievement and wellbeing, and supportive of the philosophy of education within an Islamic school environment.
This is a full-time position (8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday).
As a valued member of our Secondary team, your responsibilities will include:
Upholding and actively supporting the Islamic values, ethos, and culture of the College.
Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality learning experiences aligned with NSW curriculum requirements.
Collaborating with the Secondary Curriculum Coordinator and colleagues to implement the College’s vision, strategic priorities, and learning goals.
Contributing to the academic, spiritual, social, and co-curricular life of the College.
Designing inclusive and effective learning environments that respond to the diverse needs, abilities, and interests of students.
Building positive, respectful, and productive relationships with students, colleagues, families, and the wider College community.
Establishing structured learning experiences with clear learning intentions, success criteria, expectations, and timelines.
Applying a range of effective teaching strategies to accommodate students’ individual strengths, needs, abilities, and learning preferences.
Using assessment, student feedback, and learning data to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and inform future teaching.
Providing timely and constructive feedback to students to support academic growth and engagement.
Maintaining accurate records of student achievement, progress, attendance, assessment, and reporting requirements.
Engaging parents and caregivers through professional, timely, and constructive communication regarding student learning, progress, and wellbeing.
Participating in professional learning and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement across the College.
Essential Criteria
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Demonstrated commitment to the Islamic ethos and educational philosophy of Arrahman College.
Understanding of and alignment with the College’s Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan.
Appropriate tertiary teaching qualifications and eligibility for accreditation with NESA.
Accreditation at, or working towards, Proficient Teacher level with NESA.
Strong knowledge of relevant NSW curriculum requirements, contemporary pedagogy, assessment practices, and student learning needs.
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and/or Science, appropriate to the position.
Professionalism, integrity, discretion, and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
Commitment to child safety, student wellbeing, inclusion, and positive behaviour.
Willingness to participate in excursions, field trips, camps, co-curricular activities, and other College activities.
Ability to contribute positively to a collaborative and professional teaching team.
To be successful, you will also demonstrate;
Strong lesson planning, curriculum design, differentiation, and classroom management skills.
Ability to create safe, inclusive, structured, and engaging learning environments.
Experience across the full teaching and learning cycle, including planning, instruction, assessment, feedback, reporting, and evaluation.
Ability to make learning relevant, purposeful, and engaging for students.
Effective use of assessment data and evidence to identify student needs and inform teaching practice.
Ability to differentiate learning to support students with varying levels of ability, readiness, and learning needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
Commitment to collaborative planning and professional teamwork.
Ability to integrate appropriate technology and contemporary learning approaches into teaching and learning.
Commitment to reflective practice, professional learning, and continuous improvement.
A willingness to contribute to the broader academic, co-curricular, and community life of the College.
Flexibility of Teaching Duties
While the successful applicant will be primarily responsible for teaching Secondary Mathematics and/or Science, teaching allocations may include related subjects, stages, or other reasonable teaching duties consistent with the applicant’s qualifications, experience, and areas of expertise.
Teaching allocations may vary according to the operational and curriculum needs of the College.

Remuneration
Salary will align with the Independent Schools (Teachers) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025 at the successful applicant’s level of responsibility, qualifications, and experience.
