Summary:

The Supported Independent Living (SIL) Lifestyle Support Worker plays a crucial role in assisting individuals with disabilities to live independently within the community. This part-time position in Townsville, Queensland, offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those you support, promoting their autonomy and enhancing their quality of life. As part of a dedicated team, you will provide essential support and guidance, ensuring that clients can achieve their personal goals and maintain their independence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide personalised support to individuals with disabilities in their daily living activities.
• Assist clients in developing and maintaining independent living skills.
• Encourage and facilitate social interactions and community participation.
• Support clients in managing their personal care and hygiene needs.
• Help clients with meal preparation and nutrition planning.
• Maintain accurate records of client progress and support provided.
• Collaborate with other support staff and professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and organisational policies.
• Be available for 24/7 support, including at least one sleepover per fortnight.
• Work according to a set roster line.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a support or care role, preferably within the social care sector.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Empathy and understanding of the needs of individuals with disabilities.
• Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle may be required.
