Senior Fund Accountant - Reviewer - 12 month temp contract

Our client is a leading international financial institution currently seeking experienced Senior Fund Accountants to join their fund administration department in Sydney for a 12 month temp contract paid on an excellent day rate.

The Senior Fund Accountant is primarily responsible for review and oversight within the fund administration – supporting the service delivery of the Fund Administration team by verifying and reviewing the work of the Fund Accountants, both in-office and abroad. The Senior Fund Accountant will have direct client contact, ultimately responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of client reports in-line with SLAs.

Key Responsibilities:

In the review and verification of reporting in line with the SLA targets, the Snr Fund Accountant focusses especially on the generation of:

• Unit Pricing Reports
• Accounting Reports
• Tax Reports
• Resolution of client and/or interdepartmental issues.

This role also entails significant inter-departmental contact, ensuring all functions are operating in an efficient and harmonious manner.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

• Our client is ideally targeting candidates with demonstrated capabilities, circa 4+ years experience in senior roles within the fund accounting function, including proficiency in:
  • Unit Pricing
  • Tax Reporting
  • Valuation and Accounting
  • Distributions or Taxable Income Calculations
  • Tax Returns
• Tertiary qualifications – ideally related to Accounting, Finance, or Economics – and CA/CPA qualifications will be looked upon highly favourably.
• Technical accounting ability and knowledge of the broader functions of the client service suite – fund accounting, reporting, operational risk and compliance requirements.
• Previous exposure and experience with unit pricing and fund accounting systems, such as Hi-Portfolio, PControl, or Dimension.
• Proficiency in MS Suite, namely Word and Excel.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills are a must – will be responsible for communicating and solving queries for fellow departments and clients.
