Campaign Fundraising (Voluntary)

About the Role

The campaign is seeking people who can contribute to fundraising as we work to build a sustainable financial base for a genuinely community-funded campaign. We need to grow our donor network, run engaging fundraising activities, and ensure our fundraising practices are transparent, compliant and true to our grassroots values.

This is your chance to play a key role in a campaign that prioritises community voices over party politics – a campaign that sits at the heart of a grassroots movement built on listening, transparency, and authentic community engagement.

How you can help

We're seeking people with skills across a range of areas. You might be interested in one or several – let us know what draws you.

• Opportunity to manage the fundraising function.
• Develop and help implement a fundraising strategy and calendar aligned with campaign milestones.
• Identify and approach potential individual donors and supporters within the community.
• Plan and help run fundraising events, from small house gatherings to larger community functions.
• Research grants, matched-giving opportunities and other funding avenues available to grassroots campaigns.
• Help set up and manage donation platforms, tracking systems and donor acknowledgements.
• Ensure fundraising activities comply with relevant electoral funding and disclosure laws.
• Work closely with communications and social media teams to promote fundraising appeals and events.

Skills and experience

We're looking for people who are enthusiastic, organised and reliable. Confidence engaging with people and an eye for detail are important.

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
• Self-motivated and time-flexible.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence approaching potential donors and supporters.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, integrity, and respectful political engagement.

Commitment

This is a voluntary position. Hours and timing are flexible and can be tailored to your availability.

Our candidate has been formally endorsed by Voices of Deakin. However, the campaign operates independently from Voices of Deakin, and will recruit, manage, and run its own team and strategy.
