Senior Engineer (Digital)

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering the technical solutions that meet the transformational goals of the customer. This is a hands-on role working with both the internal and customers team of engineers, contributing to detailed design work and responsible for development of the solution as an individual contributor.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to software engineering processes and ways of working, not just coding.
• Development and implementation of agreed achitecture and detailed designs
• Contribute to features across the entire life cycle, from inception to deployment in production.
• Navigate in new code and make sense through what you find.
• Comfortable working with AI Tools to be effective and productive with development tasks
• Demonstrate an interest in working with best practices and principles while contributing to them, to keep high quality standards.
• Work towards production deployment rapidly, be able to scale and to be monitored easily.
• Enable feature improvements and delivery to be updated daily.
• A mindset ready to firefight against issues in Realtime

Technical Skills and Experience

• NodeJS experience

• Experience with Java (or similar languages)

• REST API design and implementation experience

• Experience with TDD (Test Driven Development)

• Experience in horizontally scaling microservices over AWS.

• Experience with AWS (Serverless services like API Gateway, Lambda, S3, Event Bridge, SNS, SQS, CloudFront, Step Functions, Route53 and VPC

• Experience with CI/CD (AWS tools or GitHub Workflows)

• Must have solid "hands-on" software development and engineering experience for backend services/applications development.

• Must have experience with Java (or similar languages)

• Strong fundamentals of software design (design patterns etc.) as well as systems design with ability to understand the non-functionals and design trade-offs.

• Experience with developing and deploying services on Cloud (not just infra).

• Agentic AI coding experience is highly valued. At minimum should be very keen to quickly adopt AI-powered engineering for planning/design/coding/testing/etc.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with Kotlin and Typescript

• Experience with Temporal workflow orchestration

• Experience with GitHub actions

• AI Tools (eg Claude Code, OpenCode etc) for AI-based coding/engineering
