BRIDAL SEAMSTRESS

About the role

The Bridal Seamstress is responsible for carrying out high quality alterations, repairs, and fit adjustments on bridal gowns to ensure every garment meets the company's exceptional quality and fit standards prior to reaching the bride. This role requires strong technical sewing expertise, an exceptional eye for detail, and a passion for craftsmanship. Working closely with the Production and Design teams, the Bridal Seamstress plays an integral role in ensuring all garments are completed to the highest standard while maintaining efficiency and consistency throughout the alterations process.

Key responsibilities

• Perform alterations, repairs, and fit adjustments on bridal gowns to an exceptional standard

• Execute a variety of garment modifications including hem adjustments, bodice alterations, strap adjustments, bustle creation, and fit refinements

• Undertake alterations on structured and fitted garments while maintaining garment integrity and design intent

• Work confidently with luxury bridal fabrics including lace, satin, crepe, tulle, Mikado, organza, and other specialty textiles

• Apply advanced sewing techniques and finishing methods to ensure garments meet company quality standards

• Conduct thorough quality control inspections on all completed garments

• Ensure all alterations and repairs meet company standards for fit, construction, and presentation

• Prioritise workload effectively to ensure all garments are completed within required timelines

• Maintain an organised and efficient workspace in accordance with company standards

• Contribute positively to a collaborative and high-performing team environment

About you

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a seamstress, alterations, or garment construction role

• Experience working within bridal, formalwear, eveningwear, or luxury garments

• Strong garment construction and advanced sewing skills

• Demonstrated experience performing alterations on structured and fitted garments

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

• Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• A genuine passion for craftsmanship and premium garment quality

• Desirable: Experience working within a bridal or couture environment
