Stores Team Leader

Melrina | Full-Time

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Storeperson / Forklift Driver / Delivery Driver to join the Melrina team in a hands-on Warehouse 2IC role.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the floor, knows how a good warehouse should run, and is ready to take on some additional responsibility supporting the Warehouse Manager.

You’ll be involved across the full warehouse and delivery operation — receiving stock, picking and dispatch, forklift operations, loading trucks and completing customer deliveries — while also helping coordinate the team and keep the day running smoothly.

As part of the role, you will:

• Receive, unload, check and correctly store incoming goods

• Pick and scan customer orders accurately using RF equipment

• Load and unload trucks, pallets and crates safely

• Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment

• Maintain stock accuracy and support stocktakes and cycle counts

• Apply FIFO/FEFO principles and monitor product quality and shelf life

• Complete multi-drop customer deliveries as required

• Conduct vehicle and equipment pre-start checks

• Maintain accurate run sheets, proof-of-delivery and dispatch documentation

• Keep the warehouse, chiller, freezer, loading areas and vehicles clean, organised and safe

• Follow WHS, food safety, hygiene and company procedures

This isn't just another storeperson role.

You'll work closely with the Warehouse Manager and provide practical day-to-day leadership across the warehouse and delivery team.

When required, you'll help:

• Coordinate daily workflow and priorities

• Allocate tasks and keep orders and deliveries moving

• Monitor staffing, vehicles and equipment availability

• Support pre-starts, toolbox talks and shift handovers

• Check that dispatch, stock rotation, housekeeping and safety requirements are being completed

• Support new employees through buddy training and on-the-job learning

• Provide clear, respectful direction to warehouse employees and drivers

• Identify operational issues early and escalate them appropriately

• Act as the operational point of contact when the Warehouse Manager is unavailable

We’re not looking for someone who wants to sit behind a desk. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is happy to work alongside the team and lead by example.

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

• Current MR or HR driver's licence

• Current forklift high-risk work licence

• Previous warehouse and multi-drop delivery experience

• Experience using RF scanners or warehouse inventory systems

• A strong understanding of safe forklift and warehouse operations

• Good stock control and attention to detail

• A safe and reliable driving record

• Strong communication skills

• The confidence to provide practical direction to others

• The ability to prioritise and stay calm in a busy environment

• A reliable, hands-on and team-focused approach

• Unrestricted Australian working rights

Experience working with food, chilled or frozen products and an understanding of FIFO/FEFO, food safety and product quality requirements will be highly regarded.

You'll be someone who takes ownership of their work and doesn't need to be chased to get things done.

You notice when something isn't right, whether that's a stock discrepancy, an unsafe condition, a delivery issue or a job falling behind, and you take action or raise it early.

Most importantly, you'll be someone the team can rely on — safe, practical, organised and willing to get stuck in.
