About the role
This is a practical, floor-based role for an experienced bakery professional who takes pride in quality, consistency and keeping production running smoothly. Working closely with the mixer and the rest of the production team, you will oversee the production line from dough entry through to baking, ensuring product weights, dimensions, appearance and quality meet specification.
Key responsibilities
Operate and oversee the bakery production line to achieve daily production requirements.
Monitor product weight, size, shape, bake quality and overall consistency.
Make routine adjustments to equipment and production settings to maintain product standards.
Identify and troubleshoot minor production issues, including sheeter adjustments, flour supply and belt or equipment issues.
Work with the mixer and production team to maintain a smooth and efficient production flow.
Monitor product quality and minimise waste, rework and production downtime.
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety.
Support continuous improvement across production processes and equipment.
About you
Commercial bakery or food manufacturing experience.
Strong practical knowledge of dough handling and bakery production processes.
Good understanding of product quality, weights, sizing and baking outcomes.
Good mechanical aptitude and confidence making routine machine adjustments.
Reliable, hands-on and comfortable taking ownership of the production line.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food safety and quality.
Current forklift licence – desirable but not essential.
Experience working with automated bakery production equipment.

Competitive salary of $85,000–$95,000 + super, depending on experience.
