YOUR ROLE

The Linehaul Coordinator (After Hours) in our Ground & Rail division is responsible for providing support for the national network team by monitoring and coordinating all linehaul loads and drivers.

Based at our Truganina VIC site, this role plays a key part in supporting the safe, efficient, and consistent movement of freight across our national linehaul network while providing critical after-hours operational support.

The position works Monday to Friday, 10 pm – 6 am in a hybrid working model.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Specifically, you will:

• Monitor all overnight linehaul (road and rail) loads and provide ETAs of all linehaul loads into receiving states
• Conduct welfare checks and be the main contact person for all drivers working after hours
• Contact repairers / tyre fitters for any issues that occur to equipment after hours
• Assist with load / route planning and driver / equipment allocation
• Conduct vehicle logbook checks and update linehaul manifests
• Ensure incidents, hazards and non-compliances are reported and corrective actions implemented in a timely manner
• Ensure loads are compliant with all statutory and company requirements, including but not limited to driver fatigue and load restraint
• Update linehaul sheet with equipment and allocations daily
• Ensure critical processes are completed in our Transport Management System within required timeframes
• Investigate and resolve any operational issues after hours.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Our ideal candidate has experience in an operations or allocation role, or similar within the transport sector:

• Basic to intermediate skills in MS Office applications, and capable of learning new systems and working with technologies generally
• Good written and verbal communication, time management and customer service skills
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems, know when to seek advice, suggest solutions or escalate as required
• Bonus: understanding of basic fatigue management, mass management, NHVR.

In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
