The Team

The Intensive Care Unit within the LGH is a 11 bed dynamic medical/surgical unit that prides itself on delivering excellence in health care and improving outcomes for our workforce and the Tasmanian community.

The team prides itself in having a strong, supportive culture and strives for high standards of care.The team is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our clients, utilising a range of treatment options such as mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy, advanced haemodynamic monitoring, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.

The Role

The Registered Nurse:

Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals. Practice in accordance with the NMBA codes and guidelines for registered nurses and midwives.Contribute to the maintenance and promotion of a safe work environmentIn collaboration with members of the healthcare team plan, implement and evaluates patient/client care.Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a strong team approach through open communication and a positive supportive approach

Details of appointment

Permanent full time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 21 September 2026.

Salary

$80,524 to $109,175 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
