About the role
Food to Nourish | West Gosford, NSW
Permanent Part-Time | 3.5 days per week | 1 Year Maternity Cover
Food to Nourish is an Australian health food brand and manufacturer based on the Central Coast. We manufacture and distribute our own range of health food products, as well as working with other Australian food brands through our contract manufacturing business.
We are looking for a reliable, capable and organised Customer Service & Dispatch team member to join our small team on a permanent part-time basis, 3.5 days per week, for a 1-year maternity cover period.
This is a varied role that combines customer service, administration, order fulfilment and hands-on warehouse duties. No two days are necessarily the same, so we're looking for someone who enjoys being busy, can think on their feet and is comfortable getting involved wherever they are needed.
You will be responsible for ensuring customer and wholesale orders are processed and dispatched accurately and on time, while also being the first point of contact for customers and assisting with the day-to-day running of our dispatch and warehouse area.
Your day might involve:
Answering incoming phone calls and responding to customer emails
Processing online, retailer and distributor orders
Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders
Preparing pallets and parcels for freight collection
Booking and coordinating freight with our transport providers
Receiving incoming deliveries and checking stock against invoices
Putting incoming stock away and ensuring it is stored correctly
Monitoring stock levels and advising when products are running low
Checking back orders and communicating with customers where required
Completing invoices and maintaining accurate records
Ensuring online stock levels are kept up to date
Keeping the dispatch and warehouse areas clean, tidy and organised
Assisting with general administration and day-to-day business tasks
Assisting other team members and departments when required
The above is not an exhaustive list. In a small business, everyone needs to be willing to pitch in and help wherever required.
We are looking for someone who is capable, practical and self-motivated.
This role will suit someone who can take responsibility for their work and keep things moving without needing to be constantly supervised or told what to do next.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in customer service, administration, dispatch, warehousing or a similar role
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
A professional and friendly approach when dealing with customers and suppliers
The ability to work independently and use initiative
The ability to prioritise and manage several tasks at once
A calm and practical approach when things get busy
A willingness to perform physical work, including regular lifting, carrying, packing and moving stock
The ability to lift up to approximately 15kg
A positive attitude and willingness to be part of a small team
This is a busy, varied role where interruptions are normal.
For example, you might be halfway through packing an order when the phone rings. While you're speaking to the customer, a delivery may arrive and need to be received. You then need to finish the phone call, deal with the delivery, put the stock away and return to completing the order.
We're looking for someone who can juggle these competing priorities without becoming overwhelmed, assess what needs to be done first and keep working through their responsibilities in a calm and organised way.
You won't have someone standing over you throughout the day. We need someone who can look around, see what needs doing, make sensible decisions and get on with it.
You'll probably be someone who:
Likes being busy and productive
Doesn't need constant direction
Is comfortable working independently
Notices when something needs to be done and takes care of it
Is organised and naturally likes things to be kept in order
Can switch between tasks without losing track of what they're doing
Doesn't get easily flustered when the day doesn't go to plan
Takes pride in getting things right
Is happy to get their hands dirty and help with physical work
Enjoys being part of a small team where everyone contributes
Permanent part-time position – 3.5 days per week
1-year maternity cover
Opportunity to work with an established Australian health food brand
Varied role with plenty of responsibility
Friendly small-team environment
West Gosford location
A role where your contribution has a genuine impact on the day-to-day running of the business
If you're an organised, reliable and hands-on person who enjoys variety, takes initiative and can keep your cool when there are several things happening at once, we'd love to hear from you.
Please submit your resume and a short cover letter explaining why you think you'd be a good fit for this role.
Please note: This is a hands-on role and applicants must be comfortable performing regular physical duties, including lifting and moving stock.
