About Us

Knox Grammar School is an independent, multi-campus Kindergarten to Year 12 day and boarding school for boys, located at Wahroonga on Sydney’s North Shore. In addition to the single-sex campuses, Knox also operates Wahroonga Preparatory School, a co-educational campus for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.

About The Role

Knox Grammar School is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Coach - Senior Weights & Training (SWAT) to lead the development of our senior student strength and conditioning program. The Head Coach SWAT will be appointed on a casual basis during school term-time and is required to work at least 20 hours between Monday to Saturday during term-time. Hours of work will be between 2:00pm-5:00pm Monday – Friday and Saturday between 7:00am – 1:00pm.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Designing, programming and delivering high-quality strength and conditioning sessions
• Creating safe, engaging and progressive training environments for students of varying abilities
• Coaching gym etiquette, movement competency and safe lifting practices
• Supporting broader athletic development programs across the School, including Rugby, Mountain Biking, KnoxFit and PDHPE programs
• Monitoring student progress and fostering a positive culture of participation and achievement
• Building strong relationships with students, parents and staff
• Supporting program administration, attendance management, risk management and event coordination
• Promoting the SWAT program across the Knox community

About You

You are a dynamic and enthusiastic coach who enjoys working with young people and helping them develop confidence through physical activity and performance training.

You will bring:

• A degree in Exercise Science, Sport Science or a related discipline (or currently studying)
• Experience delivering strength and conditioning or athletic development programs
• Experience coaching adolescents, ideally within a school environment
• Previous coaching experience in gym-based or sporting settings
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to lead large group training sessions effectively
• Current Senior First Aid and CPR certification
• Certificate IV in Fitness and ASCA Level 1 Accreditation are desirable
