FIFO Registered Nurse - Fixed Term

St John WA has partnered with Rio Tinto to deliver high-quality healthcare services across mining sites in the Pilbara, supporting workforce health and safety.

The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses for FIFO roles across WA. This is a fixed-term contract for 9 months subject to performance and operational needs.

This is not a traditional Emergency Department role. Your Emergency Department experience will equip you to respond to onsite emergencies when they occur, however, much of your role will involve delivering occupational health services to the site workforce.

Successful Applicants will work across Rio Tinto Iron Ore sites throughout the Pilbara region on 8:6 and 7:7 rosters, working day and night shifts of up to 12.25 hours.

About You

• Experience in Emergency, Remote, or Occupational Health nursing
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles
• Comfortable working night shifts
• Experience conducting pre-employment medical assessments and drug and alcohol screenings, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical care, emergency response, and first aid
• Conduct health assessments and screenings
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Support health promotion and site safety initiatives

Requirements

• Current AHPRA registration
• Minimum 2 years’ ED RN experience
• CPR and First Aid (ALS preferred)
• Manual Driver’s Licence
• National Police Clearance
• Drug & Alcohol Tester (HLTPAT005)
• Cannulation competency
