General Practice Registered Nurse

About the role

Lidcombe Medical & Health Centre is seeking a General Practice Registered Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. This is a full-time position based in Lidcombe, NSW 2141. As a General Practice Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within our general practice setting. You will support our medical team and work collaboratively to ensure our patients receive comprehensive, compassionate healthcare services. This position is integral to maintaining the smooth operation of our practice and enhancing the patient experience across all aspects of clinical care.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs monitoring and health screening

• Administering medications and vaccinations as per clinical protocols and patient prescriptions

• Assisting with minor procedures and wound care management

• Providing patient education on health promotion, disease prevention and chronic disease management

• Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records and medical documentation

• Supporting doctors during consultations and procedures as required

• Managing clinic workflows to ensure efficient scheduling and patient care coordination

• Responding to patient enquiries and providing appropriate healthcare advice

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised clinical environment compliant with infection control standards

• Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and best practice development within the practice

What we're looking for

• Current registration with AHPRA and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse

• Demonstrated minimum 2 years experience working in a general practice or primary care setting

• Strong clinical knowledge and competency in general medical and surgical nursing care

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families and healthcare professionals

• Proficiency in using practice management software and electronic health records systems

• Sound understanding of infection control principles and health and safety requirements

• Ability to work independently whilst maintaining collaborative relationships with team members

• Current First Aid and CPR certification

• A caring approach with a commitment to patient-centred care and professional accountability

• Preferred experience in immunisation programs, chronic disease management or health screening clinics
