This is open to Melbourne-based candidates only. The is a full-time role on a hybrid work arrangement, working two days in the office and three days remotely

About The Role

We're looking for Senior Java Engineers to join a major technology transformation, building a modern, cloud-native platform that will sit at the heart of a new B2B ordering ecosystem.

The organisation is moving away from a bespoke legacy core towards a clean, domain-driven architecture, with the new platform spanning areas such as pricing, product information, order management and supply chain.

You'll be part of the team building the middleware and integration layer between a modern off-the-shelf Order Management System (OMS) and the data and services it needs to operate.

The platform will expose APIs and event-driven interfaces, connect multiple business domains and systems, and support sophisticated B2B ordering workflows, including pre-agreed stock drawdowns and commercial ordering arrangements.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain high-quality Java/Spring Boot microservicesBuild the middleware layer connecting the OMS with business data and servicesDevelop and integrate REST APIs and event-driven servicesDesign solutions within a domain-driven, clean architectureBuild scalable and resilient services on AWSIntegrate systems across ordering, product, pricing and supply-chain domainsWork with existing legacy systems while new platform capabilities are progressively introducedContribute to technical design, development and architectural decisionsCollaborate closely with the Senior Engineering Lead and wider engineering teamWrite clean, maintainable and well-tested production codeTroubleshoot complex integration and distributed-system issuesHelp deliver the platform through to the February development-complete target

REQUIREMENTS:

Strong commercial experience with JavaStrong Spring Boot experienceProven experience designing and developing microservicesStrong hands-on AWS experienceExperience building and consuming APIsExperience with event-driven architectureStrong understanding of distributed systems and integration patternsExperience working with clean architecture / domain-driven designAbility to work effectively within an established technical vision Highly desirable:Retail technology experienceExperience across B2B, ordering or supply-chain platformsExperience working with Order Management SystemsInfor iFios experience — a standout differentiatorExperience working with complex enterprise integrations
