Salary Band: $80,006.68 - $85,798.44 + Super

About the Role:
As a Peer Practitioner you will use your own lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery to provide genuine peer support and connection to guests, their families, carers and chosen supporters.
You will use a strengths-based, recovery-oriented approach to encourage hope, empowerment and recovery, while acting as a positive role model for people experiencing mental health challenges, distress or crisis.
You'll work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring lived experience perspectives are valued and included in everyday service delivery. You advocate for, and champion the voices, experiences and needs of guests within the service.
Experience Requirements:
Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery, and the ability to draw on this experience purposefully and safely in a professional context.
Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in a Peer Practitioner, lived experience, or peer support worker role.
Previous experience in an immediate access or crisis care setting is desirable.
Experience using databases, electronic case management systems, and computer systems.
Qualification and Other Requirements:
Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC)
Certificate IV in Peer Work or equivalent qualification with demonstrated experience in a lived experience, Peer Practitioner, or Peer Support Worker role, or willingness to obtain.
Certificate IV in Mental Health or a related field is desirable.
