About the role
AusUnity Aid is a not-for-profit, migrant-founded community services organisation based in Sunshine, VIC, supporting multicultural and CALD communities across Victoria and NSW with a strong focus on African Australian families, migrants, and refugees. Guided by our principle of "Turning Empathy Into Action," we deliver culturally responsive family support, case management, advocacy, mental health support, settlement support, and youth-focused programs, including support for young people exiting prison and reintegrating into the community.
We believe everyone deserves access to safe housing, quality education, mental health support, and culturally appropriate care; regardless of background or circumstance. As an organisation founded by people with lived experience of migration, we understand firsthand the barriers our clients face, and we're passionate about walking alongside immigrant and CALD communities as they rebuild, heal, and thrive.
We're looking for a Registered Social Worker to join AusUnity Aid on a subcontract basis, 3 days per week, providing case management support to clients across community, hospital, and correctional settings.
This is a meaningful opportunity for a social worker who is confident working across multiple systems and settings, and who is skilled at building trust and rapport with clients, and with the allied health and multidisciplinary teams supporting them.
The role includes regular travel to prisons and hospitals to conduct client visits, assessments, and care coordination, so we're looking for someone comfortable and experienced working within institutional and clinical environments.
Engagement type: This position is offered as an independent contractor arrangement. The successful applicant will invoice AusUnity Aid under their own ABN and is responsible for their own tax, superannuation, and insurances.
Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience — particularly any experience working in hospital, correctional, or justice-related settings.
AusUnity Aid is an equal opportunity engager and welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
