Production Team Leader - Aerosol Manufacturing

Role Overview

Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to safely deliver production plans, achieve quality, service and cost targets, and drive continuous improvement across aerosol, liquid filling, blending and packaging operations.

Reporting to the Production Manager, this role would suit a motivated applicant keen to make a real impact on our operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-on leadership of factory operations and coordination of production resources to achieve schedule adherence and output targets.

• Provide direct supervision, coaching and training for production employees.

• Ensure compliance with WHS, dangerous goods, environmental and company requirements within an EX-rated manufacturing environment.

• Drive a zero-harm safety culture through involvement in risk assessments, incident investigations, hazard reporting and corrective actions.

• Coordinate with Maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.

• Monitor productivity, labour efficiency, waste, quality and OEE metrics and work with Production Manager to implement improvements.

• Ensure GMP, housekeeping, 5S and quality standards are maintained.

• Support ERP transactions, production reporting, inventory accuracy and lot traceability.

• Lead shift handovers, and employee engagement activities.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safe operation of all machinery and equipment.

• Conduct safety observations, audits and risk assessments.

• Ensure employees are trained, competent and working to approved procedures.

People Leadership

• Allocate labour and manage attendance.

• Develop team capability through training and cross-skilling.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Safety performance, schedule attainment, labour productivity, quality performance, inventory accuracy, downtime reduction, OTIF service, waste reduction and continuous improvement outcomes.

• Experience with QMS software is highly desirable.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Experienced team leader in a manufacturing role, preferably aerosol, chemical, FMCG, filling or packaging operations.

• Strong knowledge of WHS requirements and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Ability to interpret production plans, BOMs and ERP transactions.

• Effective leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Forklift licence and dangerous goods experience desirable.

• Microsoft Office and ERP system capability.

Hours of Work

• Standard hours are 8.00am to 4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 7.00am to 12.00pm Friday with overtime available.
