Caravan Accessory Fitter

Custom Air Group is an established business with 34 years’ experience, specialising in Design, Manufacture, Supply & Installation of Custom, Sleeper Cab Air Conditioning Systems & Customised Sleeper Cabin Fit outs. Our Head Office & Factory is based in Somerton Victoria.

We have several divisions that make up our company which cover Design, Metal Fabrication, Assembly, Painting, Installation & Upholstery.

Due to the continued growth of our company, we currently have an opportunity for a Motivated & Suitably Experienced - Truck - Sleeper Cab Accessory Fitter with Caravan accessory fitting experience to join the team with any of the below preferred qualifications and attributes.

This role requires a self-motivated, responsible person with excellent trade qualities & Communication skills who is able to work unsupervised and as a part of a team, reporting directly to the Workshop Manager.

This person will as required, complete Installations on Heavy Vehicle truck sleeper cabs, Custom kit Installations to Sleeper Cabin Interiors, Low voltage wiring of smart TV’s / Inverters / Microwaves & supporting the Production / Assembly team as required.

To be successful, you will possess:

• Previous Experience in a similar role &/or the Caravan manufacturing / Industry preferred.

• Mechanical/Repairer experience would be an advantage, but not essential.

• Experience as an automotive accessory fitter an advantage

• Automotive electrical experience an advantage 

• Experience in assembly type work and use of a variety hand power tools & Machines

• Internal / External Fitting

• Cabinet Making / Cabinetry and custom interior experience

• Parts kits assembly & accessories fitting

• 12 – 24-volt electrical wiring/upgrades, battery, inverters, etc

• Parts kits and appliances installations

• Fault finding, diagnostics & repairs

• Ability to work Un-supervised

• Physically Fit and active for manual handling duties as required

• Attention to detail and quality workmanship

• The ability to meet deadlines

• Effective communication skills

• The ability to work productively in a team environment

• Be clean & well presented

• Display strong problem solving and decision-making skills

• Be highly motivated, willing to learn and advance yourself.

• Focus on safety and commitment to OH&S principles

This person will need to have a current Australian Car Drivers License. A HR Truck license is an advantage, but not essential.
