About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Telfer. This key role is responsible for the safe and effective delivery of sustaining capital projects across the site – with a strong focus on electrical, and instrumentation works. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered safely on time, under budget, and fully aligned with end-user requirements, internal standards, and Australian regulations. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, external contractors, and a diverse range of engineering disciplines to manage projects from concept through to commissioning. Please note: This is a full-time role offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract, operating on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of sustaining capital projects from initiation to completion. Ensure safety compliance and statutory obligations under the WA Mines Act, including oversight of contractor work areas and adherence to critical controls. Develop and manage scopes, budgets, and schedules, ensuring monthly capital forecasts are current and accurate. Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders to clarify objectives and drive alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Manage contracts and contractors in line with Greatland standards and best practices. Conduct audits, field safety checks and incident investigations to continuously improve safety culture. Ensure compliance with Greatland standards, Telfer site procedures, and relevant Australian Standards. Collaborate and mentor site personnel and junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. About YouYou are a proven project professional with significant experience in brownfields project delivery within mining or heavy industry environments. You lead by example, ensure project rigour, and can comfortably manage complex scopes and multiple stakeholders in a dynamic, site-based role. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) Engineering or Project Management qualification (preferred) WA Safety Statutory Supervisor Certification (required) Experience & Skills: Experience in mining/mineral processing/non-process infrastructure projects Experience delivering brownfields capital projects Strong understanding of Australian Standards (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical) Proven contractor and contract management experience Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills Competency with Microsoft suite Why Greatland?Join a growing team where your contribution matters, your skills are valued, and progress is made every day.
