About the role
Carmichael College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational, non-denominational Christian College situated in Morayfield. At Carmichael, we believe that all students and their families belong here with our team of highly committed staff whose aim is to support and encourage students and families through pastoral care, prayer and authentic relationships.
Carmichael College is seeking a School Nurse to work in collaboration with teaching and support staff, to provide first aid services and medical care to the members of our school community. On any given day you will be required to:
Provide effective initial treatment in the event of minor medical conditions to emergency medical situations.
Manage the dispensing of medication to students.
Ensure that accurate records of treatment provided are kept on the Schools student database.
Management of action plans for students with specific medical conditions such as anaphylaxis, asthma, epilepsy and diabetes.
Ensure school first aid kits remain stocked, audited and expiry dates checked.
Provide regular updates to Management regarding any incidents of concern and completing incident reports where necessary.
About You:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Enrolled Nurse, holding a current certificate or equivalent qualifications and experience
CPR Training (updated every 12 months)
Ability to remain calm under stress/pressure
Ability to work in a team
Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or ability to obtain
Have a prayerful heart for the school and those within the school community
Participate in staff devotions, including leading/contributing to small group discussions and prayer
Contribute to the pastoral care of those in the school community
Model a positive example of Christian community interactions with the Carmichael community
Promote the Vision and Mission of the College, including its values and beliefs
