About the role
National Training Manager — Build the Function, Then Lead It
Want the opportunity to shape what a training function becomes, rather than simply inherit and maintain one?
A growing, multi-brand restaurant group is looking for a National Training Manager to modernise how capability is built across its network.
This is a genuine player-coach role. Initially, you'll be close to the work — improving SOPs, onboarding, learning content, systems and new-store training. But the bigger opportunity is to build the capability behind the delivery and shape how training supports the business as it continues to grow.
The opportunity✅ Rethink training across video, digital and AI-assisted learning✅ Strengthen learning systems, certification and governance✅ Lead Franchise Partner onboarding and training for new restaurant openings✅ Lead and develop a small national training team while shaping the longer-term training strategy
You might already be a Training Manager or L&D Manager, or you may be a strong learning or capability specialist ready for broader ownership.
What matters most is that you can think and build as well as lead. You'll have personally created practical learning content, be curious about technology and new ways of learning, and be comfortable improving things at pace rather than waiting for perfect.
QSR, hospitality or multi-site experience would be highly regarded. We're also interested in people with deeper learning design, digital or capability expertise who understand the realities of frontline and distributed workforces.
Why this business? It's a close-knit, high-performing environment where smart people are trusted to act and good ideas can move quickly.
There is enough scale for your work to matter nationally, but short enough decision paths for you to see the impact.
And if you build the function successfully, there is genuine scope for the role to grow with it — establishing training as a stand-alone function and creating a pathway toward broader Head of Training leadership over time.
