About the role
Are you a passionate hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the front and creating exceptional customer experiences?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Venue Manager to join our friendly team at our busy Yarra Valley pub. Working closely with the Venue Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the venue, ensuring every guest receives outstanding service while supporting and developing our team.
This is a full-time position and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
About the RoleAs our Assistant Venue Manager, you'll be a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You'll support all aspects of venue operations, lead by example on the floor and help maintain the high standards our customers have come to expect.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Venue Manager with the daily operation of the venue.
Leading, coaching and motivating the front-of-house team.
Delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive guest experience.
Managing opening and closing procedures.
Assisting with staff recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training.
Assisting with managing rosters and processing timesheets.
Monitoring labour costs and assisting with wage control.
Overseeing cash handling, EFTPOS transactions and daily reconciliations.
Assisting with stock ordering, stock control and supplier management.
Supporting the coordination of functions and special events.
Ensuring compliance with RSA, food safety, workplace health and safety and company policies.
Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and operational excellence throughout the venue.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience in a hospitality leadership role, ideally as an Assistant Venue Manager, Duty Manager or Supervisor.
A genuine passion for hospitality and customer service.
Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Confidence using computer systems, POS/EFTPOS terminals and Microsoft Office.
Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to remain calm and organised during busy service periods.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and public holidays.
A current RSA certificate (essential).
