Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. 

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

CCV

The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.

There are a total of 80 Judges of the Court and over 300 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

About the Role 

This is a fantastic fixed term role responsible for leading and coordinating administrative improvement, operational reform and practice change across the Criminal Division Criminal Registry Services (CRS) and Criminal Resources and Allocations (CRA) teams.  You will have a high standard of efficient service delivery for users and provide consistent procedures, staff guidance and implement legislative and process change successfully.

Duties include:

• planning, coordinating and delivering changes to practices and procedures arising from legislative reform and operational priorities within the Criminal Division

• developing, implementing and maintaining workflows, operating procedures and training materials

• identifying, managing and escalating risks and issues to lead improvements from scope to implementation for optimum service delivery

• maintaining accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements

• working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support consultation, resolve issues, facilitate implementation and achieve agreed outcomes

This is a fixed term opportunity for 12 months

About You

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working in the Victorian Court System or a legal environment.  You will have the ability to deliver practice process improvements in a high-volume operational setting, informed by data insights.  You will also demonstrate:

• highly developed conceptual, analytical and research skills with an aptitude for problem solving

• proven ability to innovate and continuously improve on outcomes, using understanding of stakeholder needs and organisational priorities

• experience formulating and communicating public policy options and recommendations, ensuring a clear narrative that aligns with objectives

• superior stakeholder management skills with ability to build mutually beneficial partnerships to deliver on outcomes

Qualifications

• Experience in practice and/or a relevant tertiary qualification (viewed favourably).
