Woodworker / Allrounder

About the role

Lyrebird Enterprises is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Woodworker/Allrounder to join our manufacturing team. This position involves hands-on carpentry work using both traditional and modern techniques, as well as assisting with packing, dispatch, deliveries, and pickups. The successful candidate will be confident operating a forklift and must hold a valid driver's licence.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out a range of carpentry tasks, including measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber components.

• Operate and maintain a variety of power tools and woodworking machinery, including drop saws, spindle moulders, routers, nail guns, and sanders.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, production plans, and job specifications.

• Safely operate a forklift to move materials and finished products.

• Ensure all work meets established quality, accuracy, and safety standards.

• Assist with deliveries and pick up of orders and stock.

• General workshop organisation and cleanliness.

• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and targets.

About you

• Demonstrated experience in carpentry, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.

• Proficiency in the safe use of power tools and woodworking equipment.

• Strong understanding of timber properties, joinery methods, and fabrication techniques.

• Current LF forklift licence.

• Valid Australian driver's licence.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.

• Good physical fitness and manual dexterity.

• Basic computer literacy.

• Desirable: Experience operating CNC machinery or automated woodworking equipment.
