Trades assistant

About the role

Abbeycross Civils is seeking a full-time Trades Assistant to join our team in South Perth. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise within the civil construction industry. In this role, you will work alongside experienced tradespeople, gaining practical hands-on experience whilst contributing to the successful completion of underground power projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and setup of work areas and equipment

• Performing manual labour tasks including digging, lifting, carrying and material handling

• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

• Transporting tools, materials and equipment to and from work sites

• Following all health and safety protocols and procedures whilst on site

• Assisting with basic tool maintenance and equipment checks

• Supporting multiple trades professionals as required, adapting to various project requirements

What we're looking for

• A strong work ethic with enthusiasm for learning and developing skills within the trades industry

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour

• Reliability and punctuality, with a willingness to work as part of a team

• A commitment to health and safety practices and compliance

• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and experienced tradespeople

• Valid Western Australian driver's licence

• White Card (Construction Induction Certification)

• Previous experience in construction, civil works, or a similar trades environment would be advantageous
