Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Experienced Grower role based in Hervey Bay, QLD. The Experienced Grower will manage the day-to-day care of nursery stock, including propagation, planting, watering, fertilizing, pruning, and pest and disease control. The role involves monitoring plant health, maintaining growing environments, and ensuring plants meet quality and presentation standards for retail sale. The grower will work with the team to plan production cycles, manage inventory levels, and support seasonal displays. The position also includes occasional customer interaction, assisting with plant selection advice, and maintaining safe, clean, and organized work areas.
Qualifications
Strong practical horticulture skills, including plant propagation, watering, fertilizing, and pruning.Experience monitoring plant health and managing pests, diseases, and environmental conditions in a nursery or similar setting.Ability to plan and manage growing schedules, maintain stock levels, and prepare plants to retail quality standards.Basic knowledge of safe chemical handling, equipment operation, and workplace health and safety practices.Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.Physical capability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.Previous experience in commercial nurseries, horticulture, or landscaping is highly regarded.Relevant horticulture qualifications or certifications are an advantage but not mandatory.
