Head Teacher - Teaching & Learning - Gymea Technology High School

Gymea Technology High School is a comprehensive coeducational secondary school located in the Sutherland Shire in the southern suburbs of Sydney. The school has an enrolment of 550 students, including 21 Aboriginal students. A highly supportive parent community and an innovative, dedicated staff work collaboratively to set and achieve school priorities that deliver strong learning outcomes. Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 

• Demonstrated capacity to lead the effective use of student achievement, wellbeing and engagement data to drive evidence-based practice, targeted interventions and whole-school improvement.

• Proven ability and experience to lead staff to improve their teaching practice, with a focus on embedding explicit teaching strategies, effective curriculum implementation and building teacher capacity to improve student outcomes.

• Demonstrated expertise in leading High Potential and Gifted Education through differentiated teaching, enrichment opportunities and inclusive practices that maximise student achievement and growth.

• Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills, with the capacity to lead collaborative initiatives, strengthen staff engagement and professional learning, and contribute effectively to whole-school improvement as part of a leadership team.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
