Contract Administrator | Premium Residential Construction

SHORE is an integrated design and build practice delivering premium residences and boutique multi-residential developments across Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, Lower North Shore, Northern Beaches and Inner West.

Design and construction sit under one roof. That structure gives us control over detail, cost and program, and it holds our projects to a standard of finish that speaks for itself. We are looking for an experienced Contract Administrator to take ownership of the commercial side of that delivery.

The role is based at our Pyrmont studio, working directly with the Directors, Project Managers, our in-house design team and site leadership.

About the Role

You will manage the commercial administration of multiple residential projects, from award through to final completion.

The position suits an intermediate to senior Contract Administrator who takes ownership, enjoys close involvement in project outcomes and a team that works in the same room.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial administration of live residential construction projects.

• Compile tender packages, pricing schedules and trade scopes for subcontractors and suppliers.

• Review and level tenders, then negotiate trade and supply agreements.

• Draft and administer subcontract agreements.

• Review, assess and process subcontractor progress claims.

• Manage variations, extensions of time, RFIs and all contractual correspondence.

• Track project costs, budgets and margin performance, and report on each to the Project Manager.

• Support procurement planning and program sequencing.

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Managers, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers across the life of each project.

• Keep project documentation and contract records complete and current.

• Contribute to delivery on time, on budget and to SHORE's standard of finish.

About You

We are after someone commercially minded and well organised, who takes the initiative and has the confidence to deal with everyone on a project, from trades on site through to consultants and clients.

You will ideally bring:

• 3 to 7+ years as a Contract Administrator in residential or commercial construction.

• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Building, Quantity Surveying or a related field.

• Sound working knowledge of construction contracts and contract administration.

• Demonstrated experience across procurement, subcontractor management and cost control.

• The ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

• Strong negotiation, communication and problem solving skills.

• Excellent organisation and close attention to detail.

• A collaborative approach and a genuine interest in the culture of the team.

• A current White Card.

Experience on architectural or high specification residential projects will be highly regarded.
