Role details

The Coronary Care Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

The Clinical Nurse (CN) provides nursing services within the health service settings; and is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research. The activities are predominantly clinical in nature but also provide support to a Nurse Grade 7 or above in management activities. The CN provides advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient-focused evidence-based nursing care, plans and coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care and provides leadership and support to other nursing staff.

About the Team

The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) includes 8 bed monitored beds and provides Telemetry monitoring for up to 20 ward Patients. The CCU works in close collaboration with the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Heart Health Team and Clinical Measurements Unit. The CCU has a complex clinical case mix of patients including, but not limited to: ACS, arrhythmias, complicated heart failure, temporary and permanent pacing, haemodynamic monitoring, inotropic support, pre and post coronary intervention, and non-invasive ventilation.
