About the role
Epping North OSHCP is seeking an experienced OOSH Assistant Director to join our dedicated team in North Epping, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to support the leadership and management of our outside school hours care service. As Assistant Director, you will work alongside the Director to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe and engaging care experiences for children in our service. This role is instrumental in maintaining our commitment to educational excellence, child wellbeing, and family satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
Support the Director in the overall management and operation of the OOSH service, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practice standards
Assist in the supervision and coordination of educators and support staff, including scheduling, training and performance management
Help develop and implement educational programmes that promote children's learning, development, and engagement during out-of-school hours
Foster a safe, inclusive and supportive environment that values diversity and encourages children's independence and social skills
Maintain detailed records, including attendance registers, incident reports, and child development documentation
Communicate effectively with families regarding their children's experiences, activities and wellbeing
Assist in budget management, resource planning and procurement of materials and equipment
Support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives and contribute to continuous service development
Maintain appropriate professional relationships and contribute to a positive team culture
What we're looking for
Current or near-finalisation of a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification recognised by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)
Current Working with Children Check clearance valid in NSW
Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for children
Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a childcare or OOSH setting in a supervisory or leadership capacity
Strong knowledge of the National Quality Standards (NQS)
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, families and external stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate and support a team
Sound understanding of child safeguarding, risk management, and duty of care requirements
A genuine passion for supporting children's development and creating positive learning experiences
Flexibility and willingness to undertake additional duties as required
