About the role

A gentle visit, a shared story, and the soft sound of piano keys…

In a quiet home in Lansvale, an elderly lady spends her days surrounded by her memories, her music, and her love of simple pleasures. Living alone and unable to get out very often, she would truly treasure the companionship of a kind-hearted female volunteer to visit and share in life’s little moments.

There’s something special about sitting together as she plays the piano, the notes filling the room with warmth and familiarity or turning the pages of a story, exchanging thoughts and reflections. She has a lifetime of memories and stories to share—moments that come alive through conversation, laughter, and connection.

Each visit is unhurried and meaningful, a chance to bring comfort, companionship, and a friendly presence into her week. Visits can take place on Wednesdays or Fridays between 10am and 4pm, offering flexibility to create a rhythm that suits you both.

For someone who enjoys gentle conversation, listening, and sharing quiet, heartfelt moments, this is an opportunity to make a genuine difference—one visit at a time.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

Requirements

18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare •

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time on a Wednesday or Friday between 10am and 4pm (30 minutes to an hour), visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
