Leading Hand

A well-established family-owned manufacturing business in the Yatala/Staplyton area is seeking an experienced Powder Coating Leading Hand to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing our powder coating operations across two shifts, supporting a team of 10+ employees and ensuring production, quality and safety standards are consistently maintained.

About the Role

• Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play an important role in coordinating the day-to-day powder coating operation and supporting the team across both shifts.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing and coordinating powder coating operations across two shifts

• Leading and supporting a team of 10+ employees

• Allocating work and ensuring production targets are met

• Monitoring product quality and ensuring customer specifications are achieved

• Ensuring safe work practices and company procedures are followed

• Supporting staff with training, coaching and day-to-day guidance

• Identifying and resolving production issues

• Ensuring equipment, work areas and materials are organised and maintained

• Working closely with Production, Despatch and other departments to keep workflow moving

• Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives

• Maintaining a positive, respectful and productive team environment

 About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in powder coating

• Has experience leading, supervising or coordinating a team

• Understands powder coating processes, quality requirements and production workflow

• Is organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities

• Has strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Leads by example and is comfortable working hands-on with the team

• Takes safety and quality seriously
