About the role
Wellways is committed to reconciliation, lived experience and inclusivity. We strongly encourage and warmly welcome people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people with a lived experience of mental health and disability and people who identify as LGBTIQA+ to apply. Even if you only meet some of the criteria, we’d love to hear from you.
Universal Aftercare Services, also known as The Way Back Support Service (TWBSS) in Cairns, provides practical, non-clinical psychosocial support to people experiencing a suicidal crisis or who have attempted suicide.
We are looking for an organised and customer-focused Administration Officer to provide high-quality administrative and operational support to the Universal Aftercare teams, with a particular focus on supporting the Cairns service.
About the role
As the Administration Officer, you’ll be the person helping keep the Universal Aftercare service running smoothly behind the scenes. Working closely with the Cairns Team Leader and the broader Cairns, Mackay and Townsville teams, you will provide essential administrative and operational support that enables our teams to focus on supporting people when they need it most.
Your days will be varied, with opportunities to coordinate meetings and events, manage referrals, maintain client records, support data collection and reporting and help keep our office, fleet and resources organised. You’ll also be a welcoming first point of contact for visitors and enquiries, while building positive relationships with Wellways teams, service providers and other key stakeholders.
Travel will be a part of the role, with opportunities to travel across the Universal Aftercare catchment to support meetings, events, team activities and stakeholder engagement.
This is a great opportunity for an organised, adaptable administrator who enjoys variety, working with people and knowing that the work they do behind the scenes contributes to a service that makes a real difference.
