About the role
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Channel Lead Generation: Actively originate new business leads through targeted outreach across professional channels, industry magazines/trade publications, specialized directories, and digital platforms like LinkedIn.
Business Growth & Pipeline Management: Proactively identify, prospect, and secure new contract manufacturing partnerships across pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare sectors.
Network & Industry Engagement: Leverage an established industry network
End-to-End Sales Execution: Manage the entire BD lifecycle, including technical enquiry intake, request for proposal (RFP) response creation, contract negotiation, and closure.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Technical Transfer, Quality Assurance (cGMP/TGA), R&D, and Production teams to evaluate technical feasibility and present tailored manufacturing solutions to clients.
Market Intelligence: Monitor industry publications, competitor shifts, and regulatory updates to refine targeted outreach strategies and identify emerging market opportunities.
Client Relationship Management: Act as the strategic partner for key accounts, ensuring seamless onboarding, contract compliance, and ongoing account growth.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of proven Business Development, Commercial, or Sales experience within pharmaceutical contract manufacturing (CMO/CDMO), API synthesis, or specialized chemical manufacturing.
Network & Outreach Capability: Strong, active network of contacts in the pharmaceutical sector, combined with a proven track record of using proactive prospecting methods (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, trade publications, professional channels) to build sales pipelines.
Technical Knowledge: Overall understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, cGMP standards, TGA regulatory frameworks, and technology transfer workflows.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, or Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a relevant discipline
Skills: Strong digital prospecting and social selling skills, exceptional negotiation, complex proposal writing, and stakeholder management abilities.
