Willoughby Leisure Centre is preparing to open its newly redeveloped aquatic and leisure destination, and we're looking for passionate Learn to Swim Instructors to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to teach in a modern, purpose-built aquatic facility featuring dedicated learn-to-swim pools, warm water program spaces and premium aquatic amenities.

As a qualified Swim Teacher, you'll play a vital role in helping children and adults develop confidence, water safety awareness and essential swimming skills while creating positive and memorable experiences in the water.

About the Role

As a Casual Learn to Swim Instructor, you will:

• Deliver swimming and water safety lessons to participants of varying ages and skill levels.

• Foster confidence, skill development and enjoyment in the water.

• Adapt your teaching style to meet individual learning needs.

• Monitor participant progression and provide feedback to swimmers and parents.

• Maintain a safe and positive learning environment at all times.

• Build strong relationships with participants, families and colleagues.

• Contribute to a professional and customer-focused Swim School culture.

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

What You’ll Bring

• A current Australian Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification.

• Current CPR certification.

• A current Working with Children Check.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• The ability to engage and motivate swimmers of all ages and abilities.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to participant development.

• A genuine commitment to safety, quality teaching and continuous improvement.

Desirable

• Experience teaching Learn to Swim programs or junior squads.

• Teacher of Infant & Preschool qualification.

• Teacher of Access & Inclusion qualification.

• Teacher of Adults qualification.

• First Aid certification.
