What your day could look like

As a Clinical Nurse – After Hours Patient Flow, you'll play a vital role in ensuring patients receive safe, timely care and that clinical teams have the support they need outside standard business hours. From coordinating resources across the hospital to leading responses during changing operational demands, you'll help deliver positive outcomes for patients, staff and the community.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

• Coordinating workforce and service resources to maintain safe care delivery and support smooth patient flow across the hospital.
• Providing clinical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams, helping them navigate complex situations with confidence.
• Responding to operational pressures, emergencies and incidents, making informed decisions that support patient safety and service continuity.
• Identifying opportunities to strengthen processes, improve care experiences and foster continuous improvement.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Strong clinical experience with the ability to coordinate services, resources and patient flow in a complex healthcare setting.
• Well-developed leadership, communication and decision-making skills, particularly in time-critical situations.
• A collaborative approach with a commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have postgraduate study relevant to clinical practice and/or experience working in rural or regional healthcare settings.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone passionate about delivering safe, person-centred care and supporting teams to achieve great outcomes together.
