Professor of Occupational Therapy

• Based in College of Health at the City East Campus Location
• Full-time, continuing position
• Position can be filled at either Level C/ D/ E dependant on experience, skills and qualifications
• Salary Range: Level C $142,789 - $164,207 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
• Salary Range: Level D $171,341 - 188,469 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
• Salary Range: Level E $227,056 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

The School of Allied Health and Human Performance offers a wide range of degrees and conducts research in the fields of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, medical radiation sciences, medical sonography, speech pathology, clinical exercise physiology, exercise and nutrition, exercise and sport science, and human movement.

Our degrees meet the evolving needs of the health industry, with our graduates actively contributing to the future health workforce in areas such as medical imaging, rehabilitation and wellness, disability, health promotion, chronic disease, pain management, wellbeing and high-performance sport.

The successful candidate will bring their skill, creativity and experience in developing and delivering education materials for the Occupational Therapy Program and will play a pivotal role in teaching and research/scholarship at Adelaide University. This position will contribute to the leadership and operational delivery of the Occupational Therapy program and broader activities within the School of Allied Health & Human Performance.

The team 

This role will work closely with the Dean, Academic Lead (Allied Health), Program directors, course coordinators, as well as other academic and professional staff across the university. You will help to support current and prospective students and manage relationships with any relevant external stakeholders.

Experience 

To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience: 

Level C:

• Relevant undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualification in Occupational Therapy together with relevant industry/discipline experience, in contemporary Occupational Therapy practice, with current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Board Agency (AHPRA).
• A PhD in a related field of research to Occupational Therapy and an emerging reputation of discipline related industry and/or research leadership.
• Demonstrated capacity to develop research projects that attract higher degree students and external funding to build upon the established research and scholarship strengths of the Academic Unit.
• Demonstrated experience and a commitment to high quality, flexible teaching and learning outcomes, using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies and modes of delivery.
• Demonstrated successful leadership of teams and projects that fosters a supportive culture of excellence and inclusivity.
• High level administrative and organisational skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to continual professional and personal development.

Level D: in addition to the point above you will also have:

• A PhD in a related field of research to Occupational Therapy and a national reputation of discipline related industry and/or research leadership.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring and leading academics staff to establish successful and rewarding careers. (Desired)

Level E: in addition to the point above you will also have:

• A PhD in a related field of research to Occupational Therapy and a global reputation of discipline related industry and/or research leadership.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring and leading academics staff to establish successful and rewarding careers. (Desired)
