Your Opportunity:

We're looking for a SIL Systems Administrator to join our System Integration Laboratory (SIL) Operational Networks team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the administration, maintenance and ongoing improvement of classified ICT systems and infrastructure that support Defence integration, testing and validation activities. Working across secure environments, you'll help ensure systems reman reliable, compliant and secure while supporting engineers and end users across the business. This is an exciting opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys working with a broad range of technologies including Windows, Linux, virtualisation, cybersecurity and networked environments.

As a SIL Systems Administrator, you'll:

• Support the administration and maintenance of classified ICT systems and infrastructure.
• Configure, manage and support Windows, Linux, Active Directory and virtualised environments.
• Implement cybersecurity controls, vulnerability remediation and system hardening activities.
• Maintain server, storage, backup, identity management and monitoring platforms.
• Support system integration, verification, validation and accreditation activities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, test plans, procedures and engineering artefacts.
• Collaborate with Corporate ICT, DevSecOps, engineering teams and key stakeholders to deliver project outcomes.
  

What You'll Bring:
To Succeed in this role, you'll have:

• Relevant qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience supporting and administering enterprise ICT environments.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, Active Directory and virtualisation technologies.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management and system hardening practices.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work effectively in structured and security-sensitive environments.
  

It would be great if you also have:

• Knowledge of Australian Government security frameworks, including PSPF, DSPF and ISM.
• Experience with networking technologies, IT service management platforms or manufacturing environments.
• Microsoft, Cisco (CCNA), ITIL, Security+ or similar industry certifications.
• Knowledge of PKI, SIEM and security monitoring solution.

Eligibility

• To be successful in this role, you will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security clearance up to NV1 (must be an Australian Citizen). Eligibility criteria can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
